Episode 1: Trap and line fishing with Danny Green & Melissah Barrett

Danny Green fishes off the coast of Coffs Harbour in NSW, trapping for snapper, leather jacket and line fishing for bonito.

He and fiance Melissah Barrett bought their first boat in 2016, after learning the ropes on prawn trawlers and other trap and line boats.

But learning to fish doesn’t mean learning to do business, and it was only after a few years running the business that Danny and Melissah really got a handle on what was coming in and what was going out.

In this first episode of The Business of Fishing, come trapping with Danny, and deckhand Ethan, and hear how Danny and Melissah came to understand cash flow and learn about setting priorities on and off the boat.
